Hans Helmut Hiebel

Hans Helmut Hiebel , also Hans Hiebel or Hans H. Hiebel (born May 18, 1941 in Reichenberg ), is a German Germanist and professor of modern German literature at the University of Graz . He retired in 2009.

Life

Hiebel studied from 1961 to 1972 at the University of Erlangen . He received his doctorate in 1972 and habilitated in 1982 at the University of Erlangen with the Venia "Modern German Literature". In 1985 he was appointed full professor at the University of Graz . His main focus is on literature of the 18th and 20th centuries, poetics, poetry theory and literary hermeneutics . Franz Kafka was the subject of his habilitation thesis.
