Hans Hobelsberger

Hans Hobelsberger (* 1960 ) is a German Roman Catholic pastoral theologian , university professor and rector of the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Hobelsberger studied theology and education at the University of Regensburg . From 1987 to 1990 he was assistant at the chair for pastoral theology at the theological faculty of the University of Regensburg. Since 1991 he has been a consultant for youth pastoral education at the office for youth pastoral care of the German Bishops' Conference . In 2006 he received his doctorate at Konrad Baumgartner at the University of Regensburg Dr. theol.

Until 2016 he was professor of pastoral theology at the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia , Paderborn department, where he also fulfilled the role of dean. In 2016 he took over the role of Rector of the KatHO NRW from Peter Berker .

He is married to the SPD politician Karin Kortmann .
