Hans Holle

Hans Hermann Holle (born December 20, 1934 in Hameln ) is a German visual artist .

Life

After finishing school, Holle completed an apprenticeship in the printing trade. Drawings have been preserved from this period. He later trained in painting, painted figuratively and experimented with different colored materials on canvas. After traveling through Spain , Greece and France , he lived in Frankfurt am Main until the mid-1950s . In 1956 he moved to Munich . Hans Holle has lived in Berlin since 1964. He separated from his wife Gisela Chmiel and married Ingeborg Mynter. In 1967 his son Daniel was born.

Hans Holle's work focuses on painting and the printing techniques of etching , woodcuts and lithography . In his etchings he uses various techniques, often in a single image, such as drypoint , aquatint, and line etching . The symbolic form inherent in his work is a mediator of experience and memory in the design process. He determines the shape of the work in the process of creation. Chance is included in the creation, making it an interaction of the artist with the color and the form.
