Hans Homma (born April 22, 1874 in Vienna ; † May 8, 1943 there ) was an Austrian actor and film director .

Life

He made his debut in Olomouc in 1893 as "Spiegelberg", after which he played in Marburg, Czernowitz and on stages in Linz (1897), Munich and Berlin . In 1900 he got an engagement at the Raimundtheater in his hometown Vienna. He later switched to the Volkstheater .

Homma was a representative of the Alt-Wiener Volkstheater , where he was seen mainly in comic roles. As a leading and supporting actor, he also appeared again and again in films from 1912 onwards. From 1921 he worked exclusively as a director for the Pan-Film , from 1928 he only worked as an actor. In the 1930s he became a typical dignitary actor who embodied nobles, directors or chairmen like General von Ketterer in Hohe Schule (1934). Because of a serious illness, he had to give up his job prematurely.
