The Secrets of London is a German-Austrian silent film drama from 1920 by Richard Oswald , freely based on motifs from Charles Dickens ' Oliver Twist . The Hungarian child star Manci Lubinsky took on the main role of little Percy .

action

The plot is based on the events that are a central part of the classic novel from Victorian London "Oliver Twist". Oliver is called Percy here and is also a foundling. When he has to leave his home, a London orphanage, he immediately falls into the clutches of criminals. What Percy doesn't even know: These crooks work on behalf of Percy's older stepbrother, who wants to get rid of the boy in order to get at the boy's inheritance. But while Percy threatens to slide deeper and deeper into the abyss with his forced theft tours - hence the second title “The Seventh Commandment” - there are also people who mean well with him and finally free him from the criminal circles.
