My Song Goes Round the World is a British love and music film from 1934 directed by Richard Oswald . action
The action takes place in Venice as in the German version. The short stature Ricardo is an unknown tenor, who is hardly occupied because of his not very stately appearance. His friend Rico, a tall, handsome man, works as a music clown. Both live under one roof. The unemployed tenor sees little chance of getting involved in the opera and therefore wants to try to make his fortune as a radio singer. But even with the radio the success is initially lacking. But Ricardo doesn't give up and just begins to sing. The station's staff are enthusiastic, but they still want to try Ricardo. Little by little, his voice arouses enthusiasm in the audience, and especially in the audience, and his programs make him famous. Records are made with him, and Ricardo and Rico are also successful as a duo.
In a record store Ricardo meets the blonde saleswoman Nina, who, however, is only in love with his voice - his appearance does not correspond to the expectations she has of a man. Ricardo is unhappily in love, and his grief grows all the greater when he realizes that his best friend Rico wins Nina's heart. The friendship between the two men falls apart and Ricardo no longer wants to partner with Rico. So Rico tries a solo career, but nobody wants to see him without Ricardo's golden voice. The good-natured Ricardo decides to save the performance of the competitor for Nina's heart and sing it. The friendship of the two is saved. Ricardo will continue to devote himself to his great art, while Rico and Nina walk towards a future together.
