action

Mr. and Mrs. Linsemann have been happily married for a year. In her chic domicile, a loan-financed and not yet paid off modern villa, the lady of the house intends to have a big one-year party to please her husband. For this reason, she invites all of his relatives to a big party, including Erbonkel Adolf, from whom she hopes a substantial injection of money to get off the loan debt. But this party is soon to develop into a catastrophe, because the guests have it all: there is the dear, brave Uncle Emil, who was always under the thumb of his rather unsympathetic brother Adolf, the Webers with their teenage son, cousin Wilhelm with his wife as well as Mr. and Mrs. stamp. A musician, a nanny and a singer are also present.

The guests turn out to be ungrateful, although Ms. Linsemann does everything possible to make the celebration a pleasant gathering. The invitees constantly complain and complain, nothing is right for them. When it comes out that Ms. Linsemann was once at the theater, there is real trouble. Uncle Adolf, executor of the will, is influenced by the “dear” relatives not to pay the Linsemanns any money from an inheritance due to them, and some of the guests are already mentally dividing the modern Linsemann house between themselves. Finally, after further turbulent events, the mood boils so high that the hunchbacked relatives try to make it clear to Mr. Linsemann that he absolutely has to divorce his "impossible" wife. Thankfully, Uncle Emil is also there: actually a quiet contemporary, he is the only one who supports the Linsemanns. Only when Mrs. Linsemann has thrown so many truths around the ears of the baggage, the "affectionate relatives" leave, and finally there is calm again with the young happiness. Uncle Emil, who finally emancipated himself from his older brother that evening, promises the Linsemanns that he will help with paying off the villa loan.

Reviews

The Österreichische Film-Zeitung wrote: "The extremely original plot, spiced with the most humorous episodes, shows how the idyll of a young married couple is disturbed by the unfortunate idea of inviting the entire family."

Paimann's film lists summed up: “… an extremely funny storyline based mainly on situation comedy, which is enhanced in its entertainment value by punchy, flowing dialogues. The continuous, careful direction leads the ensemble, which is consistently distinguished in terms of facial expressions and language, aptly (...) ... an extremely cheerful atmosphere. "
