action

A man whose name is not specifically named and his equally nameless wife have been trapped in their everyday marriage for years. Both are financially well off. In the long run, however, trivialities wear down life together little by little. One day the still young husband meets a very young girl who he likes a lot. More quickly develops between the two: the young girl becomes his lover. He furnishes her her own apartment, it gives him variety. One day his wife finds out about his double life, and the man now wants to get things done and files for divorce.

His wife, however, is not ready for separation, allegedly because of their child, and his lover, who did not know that he was already maritally bound, then abandons her lover. In this way, wife and husband find each other again and give their relationship another chance. But there will be nothing more than an arrangement made out of sheer common sense. After the ten-year wedding anniversary, the man meets the former lover again. She has since got married out of reason and is also caught in an everyday marriage.

criticism

Paimann's film lists summed up: “Above all an excellent film book; simple, without gaudy effects, no black and white characters, but people, through witty details, illuminating the topic to be treated from all sides. The very continuous direction works in the same way, protecting the happily chosen small ensemble, which is congruent with the characters of the plot, from any exaggeration. "
