Hans Hoyos-Sprinzenstein
Hans Hoyos-Sprinzenstein (born May 5, 1923 in Horn , † December 20, 2010 in Horn ; full name: Johannes Nepomuk Felix Franz Maria Rudolf Pius Gregor Hoyos-Sprinzenstein ) was an Austrian forester and large landowner .

Hoyos-Sprinzenstein came from the Spanish noble family Hoyos , who immigrated from Spain to Lower Austria in the 16th century . He was the son of the politician Rudolf Hoyos-Sprinzenstein (1884-1972) and his wife Marie Karoline, nee Hartig (1893-1967; until 1919 Countess von). His great-grandfather was Count Ernst Karl von Hoyos-Sprinzenstein (1830–1903). He was unmarried and childless.
Life
Hans Hoyos-Sprinzenstein attended the Horn Gymnasium , did military service from 1942 to 1945 and, after the end of the war, studied agriculture and forestry at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. After graduating, he worked in the management of family estates in Lower Austria. After the death of his father in 1972 he inherited the land and forest estates Drosendorf , Horn, Raan and Rosenburg . A particular concern for him was the preservation of the castles belonging to these properties, which he had extensively renovated.
He has held numerous public offices, inter alia as vice president of the Federation of agriculture and forestry holdings in Austria, as chairman of the association Lower Austrian forest enterprises, as a member of the Forestry Committee of the Conference of Presidents of the country Austrian Chambers of Agriculture and the State Farmers 'Council of the Lower Austrian Farmers' Federation .
Honors
In 1978 he was accepted into the Order of the Golden Fleece . In 1993 the city of Horn granted him honorary citizenship.
