Hans Janitschek
Hans Janitschek (born November 6, 1934 in Vienna , † February 21, 2008 in New York City ) was an Austrian journalist , author, political functionary and diplomat.
In 1953 Hans Janitschek traveled to the USA for the first time, worked there for the United Press news agency , then for Reuters and was the foreign policy editor of the Kurier . Janitschek worked for the daily newspaper Die Presse , the Wochenpresse and the newspaper Express . In 1963 he switched to the foreign service and worked in New York. After his return in 1966 he became an advisor to Bruno Kreisky . In 1969 he moved to London as General Secretary of the Socialist International . In 1977 Janitschek took on a leading position at the United Nations in New York. From 1994 until his death Janitschek was the United States - Correspondent of Austria's largest daily newspaper Neue Kronen Zeitung and (from 2001) and the Austrian private radio station KroneHit in New York.
