Hans Kopp (wrestler)

Hans Kopp (born July 26, 1949 ) is one of the most successful Swiss wreath wrestlers . He won the Kilchberg Schwinget in 1978 . Between 2002 and 2016 he was an active politician ( FDP ).

Career

Kopp was born to swing because his father Hans Kopp sen. was a successful wrestler. He won in the year of birth of Hans Kopp jun. the Unspunnen-Schwinget . At the age of 14, Hans Kopp jun. as an active wrestler, 1976, at the age of 18, he won his first wreath, on the Schwarzsee-Schwinget in 6th place.

Athletic career

Hans Kopp was active from 1963 to 1979 and won 59 wreaths, including three federal wreaths (1972, 1974, 1977). He achieved a total of 31 victories. He celebrated his greatest success in 1978 at the Kilchberg-Schwinget, which only takes place every six years and in which only the sixty best wrestlers in Switzerland are allowed to take part. There were other great victories on the Schwarzsee in 1975 and on the Rigi in 1977 and 1978 .

Initially, Kopp was part of the Bernese wrestling team. In 1975 he moved to the canton of Uri for professional reasons and from then on joined the Attinghausen wrestling club . Two years later he moved to the canton of Nidwalden and joined the local vibratory section.

Professional and political career

In 1979, Kopp founded a plumbing company in Wolfenschiessen , which is still active and owned by the family today.

He was appointed in 2002 mayor of Wolfenschiessen selected. In 2016 he resigned.
