Hans Lala

Hans Lala (born November 8, 1921 in Linz , Upper Austria ; † March 23, 2001 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After attending compulsory schools, Hans Lala completed an apprenticeship as a tiler . In 1945 he became a civil servant in the state labor office for Upper Austria and in the same year a socialist representative in the public service union . From 1961 to 1968 he held the office of parliamentary group chairman of the Union of Public Employees Upper Austria, and from 1965 to 1968 he was a member of the SPÖ federal executive committee.

His political career began in 1955 when he was elected to the municipal council of the Upper Austrian capital Linz. In 1967 he was elected to the city ​​council by a simple member of the municipal council , which was followed two years later, in 1969, by the election of Linz deputy mayor under the incumbent SP mayor Franz Hillinger . He held this position until 1983.

At the federal political level, Hans Lala was a member of the Federal Council from March 1965 to November 1967 .
