Hans Malfatti

Johann "Hans" Baptist Malfatti (born August 18, 1864 in Rovereto ; † January 18, 1945 there ) was an Austrian doctor and university professor .

Life

Malfatti studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck . During his studies he became a member of the AV Austria Innsbruck in the CV in 1883 . On May 2, 1889, he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . From 1890 he was an assistant at the laboratory for applied medicinal chemistry . In the same year he joined the "Natural Science-Medical Association in Innsbruck". In 1892/93 he completed his habilitation with Wilhelm Franz Loebisch . In 1900/01 he was appointed associate professor for medicinal chemistry. From 1902 to 1907 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

When he returned to Rovereto after his retirement in 1924, he retained his Austrian citizenship. With the Anschluss in 1938 he became a German citizen of the Reich. In March 1942 his doctorate and German citizenship were withdrawn from him on the basis of the “ Law on the Revocation of Naturalizations and the Revocation of German Citizenship ” and the “Ordinance on the Revocation of Citizenship and the Revocation of Nationality Acquisition in the Ostmark”.
