Hans Orterer

Hans Orterer (born January 13, 1948 in Jachenau ) is a German military musician and composer.

Life

Orterer was born as the son of an organist and former military musician and attended the music high school of the Regensburger Domspatzen .

After graduation in 1967, he was first officer in the Armored Corps before 1973-1976 at the Cologne University of Music , a music director studies completed. In 1976 he became a music officer in what was then Army Music Corps 5 in Koblenz . Afterwards he was head of the following Bundeswehr music corps:

Orterer was the longest-serving military musician in the Bundeswehr until his end of service on January 31, 2010. He had the rank of lieutenant colonel .

Orterer composed pieces of music for wind orchestra that were also recorded on CDs, including:

  • Evening song (small and solemn evening music / serenade for the interplay of the brass orchestra & musician's procession )

  • Alma Mater (1999) ( troop march for the University of the Bundeswehr Munich )
  • On firm ground (2001) (2nd place in the competition to compose the new march of the armed forces base of the Bundeswehr)
  • Jachenauer Serenade (2003)
  • Mountain Rescue March (2004)
  • To a new one! (2005) (2nd place in the competition for the "March of the Bundeswehr" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the same)
  • Festfanfare (2008) (composed for the 50th birthday of the Air Force Music Corps 1)
  • Beyhartinger March (2012) (composed for the Beyharting minstrel and fanfare parade)
