Hans PH Schuster
Hans Paul Hermann Schuster (born November 11, 1928 in Magdeburg ; † August 30, 2010 there ) was a German entrepreneur , monument conservator and FDP politician from Magdeburg.
Life
Schuster headed the construction company "Paul Schuster GmbH, Specialist for Construction and Monument Preservation ", founded by his grandfather Paul Schuster in 1886 for over 50 years . In the GDR , as operations manager of the VEB Monument Preservation, he was involved in the renovation and design of important buildings. In 1990, after the re-privatization of the family company, which since then bears the founding name again, Hans P. H. Schuster continued his entrepreneurial and voluntary work for the monuments.
Hans PH Schuster dedicated himself in particular to the rescue of many historically valuable buildings and art monuments that were destroyed in the war, not only in Magdeburg . He and his company are considered to be the savior of over 500 individual monuments. He has rendered services in particular to the clearing and repair of the Magdeburg Cathedral , the reconstruction and furnishing of the monastery Our Dear Women with the concert hall "Georg Philipp Telemann", the reconstruction of the tower front and the vestibule of the St. John's Church. For this he was awarded the Ring of Honor of the State Capital Magdeburg in 2003. In addition, he received the IHK's Golden Badge of Honor in 2008 and the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2004 .
Schuster was chairman of the "Magdeburg Society of 1990 for the Promotion of the Arts, Sciences and Commerce", member of the Association of Visual Artists e. V., Vice President of the Landesheimatbund, Chairman of the Society for the Preservation of Monuments in Saxony-Anhalt e. V., co-founder and board member of the Domförderverein Magdeburg e. V. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for the Reconstruction of St. John's Church and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for 1200 Years of Magdeburg. Hans Schuster initiated the gilding of the Magdeburg rider on the Old Market. He realized the memorial stele for the resistance fighter Henning von Tresckow. Another project is the installation of bronze models for the old town churches that were destroyed in the Second World War or until the mid-1950s and thus lost from the cityscape.

Schuster had been a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany since 1969 . In 1990 he joined the FDP and became in the same year on the regional list of the FDP in Saxony-Anhalt in the Bundestag elected, which he belonged to the 1994th He was a member of the board of directors of the FDP district association Magdeburg.
