Hans Rauhaus

Hans Johannes Rauhaus (born February 8, 1904 in Cronenberg ; † January 29, 1998 in Wuppertal ) was a German engineer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school, Rauhaus first completed a commercial apprenticeship and then completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman. He then went on to do a practical job in a company in the Wuppertal tool industry (Stahlwille company in Wuppertal-Cronenberg). He studied from 1924 to 1926 at the State Mechanical Engineering School in Elberfeld and then worked as a production engineer at the Eduard Wille company . During the Second World War he was employed as a works air raid protection officer.


Rauhaus party was a co-founder of the Wuppertal CDU in 1946 and was a member of the party until his death.

Deputy
Rauhaus was 1948-1975 councilor of the city of Wuppertal, where from 1958 to 1961 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He was also a member of the Rhineland Regional Assembly . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1965. In parliament he represented the constituency of Wuppertal II .

Public offices
Rauhaus officiated from 1958 to 1961 as mayor (deputy mayor ) of the city of Wuppertal.

Honors

In 1969, Hans Rauhaus was awarded the ring of honor of the city of Wuppertal . Furthermore, the Hans-Rauhaus-Straße in Wuppertal was named after him.
