Hans Robert Christoph Reiter (born April 18, 1901 in Strasbourg , † December 11, 1973 in Alsfeld ) was a German politician of the NSDAP .

Live and act

Reiter was born in 1901 in Strasbourg as the son of the Catholic brewer Albert Rudolph Joseph Reiter and his Protestant wife Luise Katharina, née Rechaber .

Reiter attended elementary school and high school. Later he was trained at a high school for practical farmers. From 1918 he worked as an agricultural officer in Upper Hesse , Hessen-Nassau and Oderbruch . In 1924 he passed the final examination as a state-certified farmer in Kassel-Wolfsanger . From 1926 Reiter lived as an estate inspector in Wendisch-Paulsdorf near Löbau in Upper Lusatia.

In the mid-1920s, Reiter joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP). From 1929 Reiter was a party speaker and NSDAP district leader for the Löbau district. In autumn 1932 Reiter became a full-time district leader; he held this position until 1945. In 1933 he married.

In the Reichstag election of July 1932 , Reiter was elected as a candidate for the NSDAP for constituency 28 (Dresden-Bautzen) as a member of the Reichstag . He was a member of the German parliament without interruption until the collapse of the National Socialist regime in May 1945. The most important parliamentary event in which Reiter took part during his time as a member of parliament was the passage of the Enabling Act - which was also passed with his vote - which, together with the Reichstag Fire Ordinance of February 1933, formed the basis for the establishment of the National Socialist dictatorship. On June 1, 1935 he became regional group leader of the Federation of German East in Saxony.
