Hans Hartmann-MacLean
Hans Hartmann-MacLean , actually Hans Rudolf Hartmann , (born May 20, 1862 in Dresden ; † December 28, 1946 there ) was a German sculptor , medalist and university professor .
Life
Hartmann-MacLean attended the Dresden Annenschule and studied from 1879 to 1885 at the Dresden Art Academy . One of his teachers was the sculptor Johannes Schilling , in whose studio Hartmann-MacLean worked from 1881 to 1885. From 1885 to 1887 he went on a study trip to Italy with a travel grant from the Academy and stayed in Rome for some time. In 1900 Hartmann-MacLean became a lecturer at the art academy and later a professor . Also in 1900 he was made an honorary member of the Dresden Art Academy.
Hartmann-MacLean died in Dresden at the end of 1946 at the age of 84. His grave is in the Trinity cemetery .

- 1885: Marble sculpture "The Prodigal Son" in front of Villa Ilgen (lost)
- 1892: plaster relief with a scene of the institution of Holy Communion in the Annenkirche in Dresden (after 1945 moved to the Wichern chapel in Radebeul-Lindenau )
- 1894: neo-Gothic altar of Freiberg Cathedral
- 1894: sculptural decoration on the north facade of the Dresden Art Academy building , including the group of figures "Heaven and Hell"; The gusset figures "Earth and Sea" as well as the group of putti "Dress and Animal Studies" have been preserved.
- 1897: Larger than life statue of the "Dresda" with a portrait medallion of Queen Carola on the Dresden Carolabrücke (not preserved)
- 1897: Gable figures on the Imperial Palace office building in Dresden
- 1900: Main portal and organ gallery of the Kreuzkirche in Dresden
- 1901: Fountain figure of the Stübelbrunnen on Stübelplatz in Dresden (not preserved)
- 1901: Bronze plaques for the main portal (festival door) of the Jakobikirche in Dresden
- around 1905: three pulpit reliefs in the Luther Church in Zwickau
- 1906 (?): Angel sculpture on the tomb of the von Bose family in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg
- 1907: Main portal decoration of the Saxon State House in Dresden
- 1908: Märchenbrunnen in Augustusburg (under monument protection)
- 1928: Sandstone sculpture “The Prodigal Son” in front of the Holy Spirit Church in Dresden
