List of sculptures, reliefs and medallions at the Art Academy (Dresden)
The list of sculptures, reliefs and medallions at the art academy gives an overview of the entire building sculpture (sculptures, reliefs, spandrel figures and medallions) at the art academy and at the art exhibition building (Lipsius-Bau) in the Saxon capital of Dresden .
Both buildings were built by Constantin Lipsius between 1887 and 1894 . In determining the iconographic program, Lipsius was supported by the artists of the academy and the art historians of the art collections. The figure program relates to the main functions of the building, the main motifs are dedicated to the epochs of art history, the art genres, the artistic creation and the artistic places of activity. The figurative design of the building was done by 28 artists (sculptors). The description of the artistic work follows the information provided by Rother.
