Reinhard Schnauder

Franz Reinhard Schnauder (born December 9, 1856 in Plauen in Vogtland , † October 14, 1923 in Dresden ) was a German sculptor and draftsman.

Life

Reinhard Schnauder was born in Plauen in Vogtland as the son of the wood sculptor Julius Schnauder, who lived in Dresden from 1865 to 1880. From 1875 to 1876 he studied at the Art Academy in Dresden and was a master student at Ernst Hähnel and until 1881 its close associate. From 1886 he worked freelance with his own studio in Dresden. In 1886 he became a member of the Allgemeine Deutsche and the Dresden Art Cooperative. In addition to sculptures, his artistic works were primarily small sculptures, portraits and cemetery art. Reinhard Schnauder was the father of the sculptor Richard Georg Schnauder .
