Hans Schnell (painter)

Hans Schnell (born April 4, 1951 in Munich ; † May 7, 2019 ) was a German painter and draftsman .

Hans Schnell studied art history , education and art education at the LMU Munich from 1971 to 1974 and at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts from 1974 to 1980 . From 1977 he was a master student with Karl Fred Dahmen . He had his own studio since 1980.

He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (1987–1998) and the Dresden University of Fine Arts (1994–1998). In 2009 he was a guest artist at the Rome University of Fine Arts . Since 2011 he has taught at the Western Romanian University of the West Timișoara .

Schnell had numerous solo exhibitions. His work is available in many public collections. He lived in Munich and Hamburg .
