The Kohlberg landscape protection area is a protected landscape area (LSG number 1.16.093) on the territory of the municipality of Kohlberg , which was designated by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the Esslingen District Office of July 24, 1998 .

Location and description

The 126.5 hectare area naturally belongs to the Middle Alb foreland . It is located north of the municipality of Kohlberg and borders the Tischardt markings of the municipality of Frickenhausen , Neuffen and Grafenberg .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Areas Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the richly structured orchards and their valuable additional structures. These additional structures include, in particular, slope edges, grass and gravel paths, lean and dry rains, fallow land and small unused areas, hedges, field trees and damp spring areas. The protection purpose is also the preservation of the largely natural rivers Haldenbach and Krummbach with their tributaries and their intact woody structures.
