Hans Sperger (born December 9, 1910 in Lustenau , † September 29, 1981 in Dornbirn ) was an Austrian politician ( NSDAP , VdU , FPÖ ) and junk goods dealer. Sperger was a member of the Vorarlberg regional government from 1969 to 1976 as a regional councilor and from 1970 to 1976 regional party chairman of the FPÖ Vorarlberg .

Hans Sperger was born in Lustenau as the son of the teacher Rudolf Sperger and his wife Lydia. After attending elementary school in Lustenau and lower school at Dornbirn Realschule, Sperger graduated from the Federal Commercial Academy in Innsbruck in 1930 . He then became a bank and insurance clerk as well as a traveling salesman. During this time he joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party, which was illegal in Austria at the time, on April 3, 1933. In May 1933 he became a member of the Sturmabteilung (SA) within the NSDAP . In March 1938, after the " Anschluss of Austria " to the German Reich , Sperger became the NSDAP's local propaganda group leader in Lustenau. Until 1941 he was also the head of the district tax office for fruit and vegetables before he was drafted into military service. During his war deployment, Sperger was taken prisoner of war , from which he did not return to Vorarlberg until the end of the war.

Back in Austria, because of his membership in the NSDAP, he was initially banned from his profession and taken into internment custody in Brederis in 1945 and 1946 by the Allies . From 1947 to 1953 he subsequently worked as an employee and later managing director of the Fitz waste materials company. From 1953 he practiced an independent trade in waste materials. In 1949 he joined the Association of Independents, the predecessor party of the FPÖ. For the FPÖ, Sperger finally succeeded on April 23, 1960 as a member of the Lustenau municipal council . He stayed that way until 1975, where he also held the office of Vice Mayor of Lustenau between 1965 and 1969.

In 1969, Hans Sperger was initially elected to the Vorarlberg state government as regional councilor for hydraulic engineering, water supply systems, sewer systems and wastewater treatment. Also in 1969, he was deployed internally as deputy chairman of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. From 1970 he took over as executive chairman of the Vorarlberg Freedom Party. On November 17, 1976, Sperger resigned from his position as regional councilor, and was succeeded by his party colleague Karl-Werner Rüsch . In 1977 he was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor by the State of Vorarlberg .
