Johannes "Hans" Sprung (born May 20, 1900 in Zschopau ; † January 28, 1982 there ) was a German motorcycle racer .

Career

In June 1922, Hans Sprung started the first motorcycle race held at the Berlin AVUS on a Lomos scooter with a DKW engine built in Zschopau . The following year he won with a small DKW motorcycle in which the axes drive counting hill climb on Forsthaus Lückendorf and was also at the ADAC - Reichsfahrtmodell successful. In 1924 he won the stage on the Hohe Sonne near Eisenach as part of the Reichsfahrt .

In the following season, Sprung started with second places behind his DKW colleague Hermann Weber in the winter drive and in the Prague hill climb . At the AVUS he defeated Weber for the first time, then he won the track races on the Opelbahn and in Chemnitz and with his victory in Elberfeld in 1925 he became German motorcycle track champion in the 175 cc class. He also won the German road championship in the 175 category in 1925 .

In 1927 Hans Sprung won the 175 races at the Eilenriederennen in Hanover with his DKW , the first motorcycle races on the Badberg-Viereck (today's Sachsenring ) and the Nürburgring - Nordschleife - the Eifelrennen - as well as the Marienberger Dreieck and crowned himself again to the German 175 cm³ road champion. He also won the 24-hour race on the Opelbahn near Rüsselsheim together with Arthur Müller .

In 1928, Sprung won again in Marienberg , this time in the 250cc class, and won the Grand Prix of Czechoslovakia as well as in Königsbrück . In the following year he won the mountain races near Prague and in Lückendorf , and in 1934 he successfully took part in the 2000-kilometer Deutschlandfahrt again.

In the 1950s, Hans Sprung supported and looked after the MZ racing driver Hans Fischer .
