Hans Carl Johan Wallén (born January 19, 1961 in Uppsala ) is a former Swedish sailor .

successes

Hans Wallén, who was a member of Göteborgs Kungliga Segelsällskap , took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and in Atlanta in 1996 with Bobby Lohse in the Star boat class . In 1992 they finished the regatta with 65 points in fifth place. With 29 points they finished four years later behind the Olympic champions from Brazil, Torben Grael and Marcelo Ferreira , and in front of the Australians Colin Beashel and David Giles , with which they won the silver medal. In between, they also secured silver in the Starboot at the 1993 World Cup in Kiel . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 Wallén was the skipper of the Swedish boat in Soling and was eliminated in the second round of the match race .

Wallén won numerous other medals at world championships: In 1978 he was the Europe World Champion in Skovshoved and secured bronze in this boat class two years later in Helsinki . In the 12-meter class, further titles followed in Damp in 1997 and Sandhamn in 1999 , followed by winning the bronze medal in Soling in Murcia in 2000 and in Melbourne in 2001 in the 12-meter boat.
