Hans Wittenburg

Hans Wittenburg (born October 31, 1888 in Melkof ; † in the 20th century) was a German politician ( DDP , Eastern CDU ). He was a state board member of the DDP Mecklenburg-Schwerin , co-founder of the CDU state association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , treasurer, and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Hans Wittenburg attended the village school in Melkof until 1899, the Progymnasium until 1902 and the Realgymnasium in Hagenow until 1907 . He then went through postal training, which led him to advance from postal assistant in 1907 to postal councilor in 1946. Politically, he had joined the DDP during the Weimar period , and he worked on both the local and state boards of this party. Wittenburg was also a member of the Schwerin Masonic Lodge .

After 1945 Wittenburg belonged to the founding circle of the CDU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania around Reinhold Lobedanz . As in the DDP, he held the office of treasurer in the state board. After Friedrich Burmeister became Deputy Head of the Schwerin Postal Directorate in 1946, Wittenburg took over his management position in the postal authority. From March 1948 to October 1950 he was a member of the German People's Council and the Provisional People's Chamber . In the sham elections in 1950 , which were carried out according to the uniform lists , Wittenburg moved into the Mecklenburg state parliament as a "progressive" functionary . After the dissolution of the state parliament in 1952, he was a member of the Schwerin district assembly until 1954 .

In June 1957 he was awarded the CDU badge of honor as a veteran in Schwerin.
