Hans von Brandenstein (born March 1, 1870 in Görlitz , † September 22, 1950 in Weißenbach, Franconia ) was a German officer , most recently Lieutenant General of the Reichswehr .

Hans came from the Brandenstein family . He joined the Grenadier Regiment "King Wilhelm I" (2nd West Prussian) No. 7 of the Prussian Army on March 22, 1889 , coming from the Cadet Corps as a second lieutenant . During the First World War he held various general staff assignments, including a. as Chief of the General Staff of the XI. Army Corps and as chief quartermaster of the Woyrsch Army Group . From March 19, 1919 he was the last regimental commander of the infantry regiment "Prince Friedrich of the Netherlands" (2nd Westphalian) No. 15 in Minden . When it was dissolved, it was taken over by the Provisional Reichswehr . Brandenstein served as the commander of the 17th Infantry Regiment and was most recently in command of Königsberg .
