The HansePferd Hamburg is a fair for equestrian sports in Hamburg . It was first held in 1987 and has been held every two years in spring on the Hamburg Messe site since 1988 . It is organized by Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH . The notional sponsor of the fair is the regional association of riding and driving clubs Hamburg .

predecessor

HansePferd Hamburg's predecessor was a leisure, hobby and gardening fair. This had a hall for equestrian sports. Due to the large number of people there, the decision was made to set up an equestrian fair.

Data (2016)

The three-day fair had more than 53,000 visitors in 2016, including around 52,000 from Germany. More than 450 exhibitors from 14 countries presented their products on an area of ​​47,600 square meters in seven halls. Over 300 horses and ponies of various breeds were represented.

Program and events

In addition to the offers of the exhibitors, the fair offers a supporting program in demonstration and special areas (e.g. equestrian exercises) as well as a show event. People who have made special merits in equestrian sport and who have a special relationship with Hamburg are awarded the HansePferd Memorial Prize. In 2016 this was awarded to Albert Darboven .
