Hansjörg Auf der Maur

Hansjörg Auf der Maur (born November 24, 1933 in Brunnen ; † July 22, 1999 in Vienna ) was a Swiss theologian and professor of liturgical science at the University of Vienna . In 1959 he joined the Bethlehem Immensee Mission Society .

Live and act

After studying in Brussels and Trier , he did missionary work in Taiwan . From 1971 to 1985 Auf der Maur was a professor at the Catholic-Theological Faculty in Amsterdam , from 1985 professor for liturgical science and sacramental theology and head of the institute for liturgical science at the Catholic-theological faculty of the University of Vienna .

family

The Canadian rock singer and bassist Melissa Auf der Maur is a great niece of Auf der Maur . On her music album of the same name, she had the heraldic family coat of arms of the Auf der Maurs, a rearing billy goat on a castle wall , crowned by a knight's helmet , included in the booklet .
