Life

Munter, who lives in Villnöß, attended the “Salern” middle school and the secondary school in Brixen. He was then trained as a painter in his parents' company , and in 1984 he passed the master's examination. In addition to his training, he began studying business administration at the University of Innsbruck , which he completed in 1986 with a thesis on the subject of South Tyrolean handicrafts . He then worked in the marketing department of the jam and beverage manufacturer Zuegg AG in Lana. In 1989 he started working for the South Tyrolean Association of Craftsmen (LVH), of which he was director from 1991 to 2011.

In 1993, Munter was able to win a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament on the list of the South Tyrolean People's Party and at the same time for the Trentino-South Tyrol regional council . His political contribution in the state parliament was mainly aimed at improving the economic framework and the concerns of the craft in South Tyrol. After three legislative terms as a member of parliament, he missed re-election in 2008.

After Seppl Lamprecht's death on December 28, 2010, Munter had the opportunity to join the state parliament. After his announcement that he would accept the mandate, he was repeatedly asked by various sides to choose between his work in the trade association and in the state parliament. Munter was sworn in on January 11, 2011, and on January 17 he announced that he would be leaving his profession in the LVH for the duration of his political activity. Before the state elections in 2013 , he decided not to run again and thus retired from active politics.
