Hanus við Høgadalsá [ hɛanʊs viː ˈhøadalsɔa ] (born March 8, 1913 in Kaldbak , Faroe Islands ; † January 6, 1998 in Tórshavn ) was a Faroese politician and leading co-founder of the Republicans ( Tjóðveldisflokkurin ).

Hanus was the son of Sigga Súsanna Maria Elisabeth Fredrikka, b. Bærentsen from Sundi and Jákup Andrias Vang from Kaldbak. The name "við Høgadalsá" means "at the high valley stream" and refers to a stream near Kaldbak. It is a typical Faroese phenomenon that people name themselves after such places and then pass on this surname. Hanus was married to Hanna, geb. Poulsen from Kirkja .

Hanus við Høgadalsá was a leading co-founder of the Republicans in 1948 along with Jákup í Jákupsstovu , Erlendur Patursson and Sigurð Joensen (and others). 1950-74 he represented his party in the Faroese parliament, the Løgting . 1949–60 and 1969–72 he was also a member of the Tórshavn Municipality Council , of which he was Chairman in 1970.
