Harald Müller (born June 10, 1895 in Zwickau , † November 4, 1982 in Aachen ) was a German electrical engineer .

Life

The Evangelical baptized Harald Müller put in 1914 his Abitur at the grammar school of his hometown Zwickau from. Harald Müller then devoted himself to studying electrical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden , which he graduated with a diploma in 1922, temporarily interrupted by his participation as a soldier in the First World War . Two years later he acquired the academic degree of Dr.-Ing.

After completing his doctorate , Harald Müller took on an assistant position at the Institute for Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Dresden. In addition, he was employed as group leader of the calculation office in the transformer plant of the Sachsenwerk . In addition, Harald Müller acted as head, later as director of the test field of Hermsdorf-Schomburg-Isolatoren GmbH. In 1930 Harald Müller moved to the University of Jena , there habilitated himself as a lecturer for the subject Technical Physics . Five years later he moved to the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin in the same position . In 1939 he followed the call as a lecturer in the field of electrical heating at the Technical University of Dresden, in 1942 he was appointed as an adjunct professor for electrical engineering. In addition, he did military service from 1943 . One year after the end of the war, Harald Müller accepted the offer for the unscheduled professorship for electrical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In 1948, Harald Müller relocated to Essen , where he was appointed to the scientific management of the Electro-Heating Institute, and at the same time he was appointed lecturer for electrical furnace and apparatus construction at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen . In 1960 he resigned from his position at the Elektrowärme-Institut Essen. In 1967 he retired from university. Harald Müller focused his research on high voltage technology and electrical heating technology.
