Harald Pfeiffer (physicist)

Harald Pfeiffer (* 1974 ) is a German astrophysicist .

Life

He attended the Steigerwald-Landschulheim Wiesentheid and graduated from high school at the age of 19. In 1993 he won a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad . From 1994 to 1997 he studied physics at the University of Bayreuth and from 1997 to 1998 at the University of Cambridge . He then studied at Cornell University from 1998 to 2003 until he received a Ph.D. made. From 2003 to 2009 he worked at the California Institute of Technology . Since then he has taught at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Toronto . In 2016 he took over research activities in the field of astrophysics at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics . On March 18, 2016, he was awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Prize.
