Hardev Bhalla

Hardev Bhalla (born March 5, 1936 in New Delhi ) is a former Indian ambassador .

Life

Hardev Bhalla studied economics at the University of Delhi and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws . In 1958 he joined the Indian Foreign Service. From 1976 to 1978 he was Deputy High Commissioner in Colombo , Sri Lanka and from 1976 to 1978 Ambassador to Augusto Pinochet . From January 1979 to 1980 he was Director of the National Defense College, India in New Delhi , from 1982 to July 1984 Ambassador in Oslo and Reykjavík , and from July 1984 to August 1, 1986 Ambassador in Bucharest . From August 1, 1986 to January 1990, Bhalla was High Commissioner in Dar es Salaam , and from October 24, 1986 to November 30, 1987, High Commissioner in Victoria (Seychelles) . From March 12, 1990 to March 31, 1994 he was ambassador to Lisbon . Bhalla is married to the former ambassador Manorama Bhalla, they have a daughter and a son.
