Hardy Frenger

Hardy or Hardi Frenger , actually Eberhard Frenger (* 1922 ), is a former German gymnast and gymnastics trainer .

Life

Frenger, who came from Cologne and was a lathe operator , studied at the German Sport University in Cologne until 1949 .

Frenger participated as a member of the Navy to the German Gymnastics Championships in 1943 in part and belonged from 1946 the Germany squad on. Together with Helmut Bantz , he took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki as a gymnast for Langenfelder TV . In 1953 the artistic gymnastics squad with Bantz, Frenger, Beuth, Kotthaus, Apel, Koch and Werner Beckmann became German team champions. In May 1955 he did gymnastics with the German national team against Switzerland.

In 1958 he became the coach of the German national gymnastics team. He later taught gymnastics at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg .

In 2003, Frenger was one of the first signatories of the peace appeal of the athletes "Stop the War!" Of the "Initiative for Peace" launched under the leadership of Täve Schur , Gunhild Hoffmeister and Klaus Köste .
