Hari Rhodes

Hari Rhodes (born April 10, 1932 in Cincinnati , Ohio , † January 15, 1992 in Canoga Park, Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor and author . Occasionally he was also carried under the name Harry Rhodes.

Life

At the age of 15, he forged his mother's signature and joined the US Marine Corps . In the Marines, Rhodes became a member of the judo team. He served with the rank of sergeant in Korea. In 1957 he made his television debut in an episode of Adventures in the Wild West (Zane Gray Theater) . He had a bigger role in 1966 as Captain Davis in the hit comedy New York Express , alongside Rock Hudson and Claudia Cardinale and also in 1972 in the film Conquest of the Planet of the Apes , alongside Roddy McDowall . In 1973 he played a leading role in the thriller Detroit 9000 . Rhodes, who mainly acted in supporting roles, became known to German viewers primarily in his role as Mike Makula in the television series Daktari . He starred alongside Leslie Nielsen in the short-lived series The Bold Ones: The Protectors .

Hari Rhodes died of a heart attack on January 15, 1992 at the age of 59, a few months before the premiere of his last project, the TV production Murder Without Motive: The Edmund Perry Story .
