Harrison Smith (* 2. February 1989 in Augusta , Georgia ) is an American American football poker players. He plays with the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL) as Free Safety .
college
Smith, who also excelled in basketball and athletics during high school , was offered athletic scholarships from several universities. He decided on the University of Notre Dame and played for their team, the Fighting Irish, successful college football , where he was able to set a number of school records.
NFL
In the 2012 NFL Draft , he was selected in the 1st round as the 29th player of the Minnesota Vikings . He was already convincing in his rookie year and was a starter in all 16 games . He got 3 interceptions , two of which he could even use for touchdowns . In 2013 he was only able to play 8 games due to an injury and in 2015 he was unlucky with injuries and was out for three games.
In 2016, he was awarded a new five-year contract for $ 51.25 million, 28.57 of which was guaranteed. He blossomed into a defining personality in the defense of the Vikings. For his consistently good performance, he was appointed to the Pro Bowl every year from 2015 to 2019 .
