Harry Guardino

Harry Guardino (* 23. December 1925 as Harold Vincent Guardino in New York City , New York , USA ; † 17th July 1995 in Palm Springs , California , USA ) was an American film and theater actor .

Life

Harry Guardino attended Hair High School in New York City. Since the early 1950s he has been in the limelight in both film and television, but also on Broadway . Guardino became internationally known in 1958 with the film Houseboat , for which he received the Golden Globe Award in 1959 . Guardino, who was usually offered rogue roles due to his appearance, mostly appeared in television series. One of his best-known roles in a feature film was that of Barabbas in Nicholas Ray's 1961 Bible adaptation King of Kings . Guardino also stood in front of the camera in 1971 in Dirty Harry .

Guardino was married twice and had four children, daughter Michele and sons Paul, Gregory and Michael.

He died of lung cancer in 1995 at the age of 69 .
