Hartmut Krebs (born May 17, 1946 in Isny im Allgäu ; † September 29, 2007 ) was a German civil servant , state secretary and entrepreneur .

education

1968-1973 Hartmut Krebs studied economics at the Free University of Berlin and the University of the Saarland .

Main professional activities

From 1976 he worked for the District President Düsseldorf , then for the Düsseldorf State Chancellery and the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of the Environment . From 1990 to 1999 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Medium-Sized Enterprises, Technology and Transport.

From 1996 to 2000 he was also CEO of Messe Düsseldorf ; During this time the events “Star Trek” and “Titanic” initiated by Krebs had to be written off with losses of around 60 million euros. Since 2005 he has been an independent entrepreneur with the company K + K Wissenstransfer e. K. and partner in the General Capital Group Beteiligungsberatung GmbH in Munich.

Activity in advisory and supervisory boards

Hartmut Krebs was a personal member of the Max Planck Society and the Fraunhofer Society , the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts , the Advisory Board of the German-Chinese Economic Forum and the German-Japanese Society on the Lower Rhine. In 2003 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Moscow State University of Communication Means (MIIT) and on June 30, 2005 he became an honorary member of the World Innovation Foundation (wif).

Krebs was a member of the supervisory board of Forschungszentrum Jülich , the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, Energy , the Düsseldorf University Hospital , the Zollverein School of Management and Design and a member of the International Board of the BICC (Bonn International Center of Conversion). From 1991 to 1998 he was a member of the supervisory board of Gelsenwasser AG and from 1990 to 1996 on the supervisory board of IKB Deutsche Industriebank .
