The former Gasthaus Schwarzer Adler at Hauptstrasse 60 in Mühlbach , a district of the city of Eppingen in the district of Heilbronn in northern Baden-Württemberg , is a half-timbered house built in the 18th century . The building is a protected cultural monument .

history

The Schwarzer Adler inn in the upper village was the oldest inn in the town. A predecessor building certainly existed before the current building was built in 1714. In the concession list of 1841, the eagle is listed as the fifth of five inns in the town. The owner at that time was Johann Schäfer. In contrast to the other four inns, the Adler's license had existed "since time immemorial". The restaurant existed until the late 20th century.

description

The large angular building faces the street with the gable . Two half-timbered floors and two attic floors stand on the high-standing massive cellar of the main building. The smaller part of the building, attached at right angles, has the house entrance and an arched courtyard entrance. Above is a half-timbered floor.

At the gable only the upper floor protrudes, and the structure of this side of the house was made with K- struts or short and long struts. St. Andrew's crosses can be seen under the window parapets of the other part of the building . The inscription NSMES 1754 can be seen on the upper left corner post and HVG 1714 on the lower corner post .
