Guînes (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Guînes is the family of the first Counts of Guînes from the 10th to the 12th centuries. It comes from a Danish nobleman who, as the son-in-law of Count Arnulf I of Flanders, was entrusted with the rule of Guînes.

In the seventh generation, the family died out in the main line and passed the county down to the Gent family .
