The Hausheide is 441.4 m above sea level. NN next to the same high Lippe Velmerstot the third highest elevation of the Egge Mountains in Germany .
Its wooded hilltop rises on the municipal boundary between Altenbeken (with the districts of Schwaney and Buke ; district of Paderborn ) and Bad Driburg ( district of Höxter ) about 2 km west of downtown Driburg. Its summit is just on the Altenbeken area. About 1.4 km east of the Hausheide are the ruins of the Iburg . Around 1900 there was a wooden lookout tower on the summit.
