Hayes Greenfield
Hayes Greenfield (also Haze Greenfield , * 7. July 1957 in Poughkeepsie , New York as Harold Greenfield ) is an American jazz - saxophonist (alto and C melody saxophone ), arranger , film composer and music teacher.
Live and act
Hayes Greenfield studied 1974–1978 at the Berklee School of Music in Boston ; then he had private lessons with Hal Galper , Jaki Byard and George Coleman from 1980 to 1985 . He then worked with his own groups, with whom he released several albums on the Owl and Black Hawk labels, as well as with Byard, Rashied Ali , Tom Harrell , Norman Simmons , Mike Stern , Bill Frisell , Don Friedman , Hiram Bullock and other musicians. As a musician and composer, he also worked on several film scores , such as Buscando a Miguel (2007) and television productions, such as documentaries for the PBS . In 1997 he founded the music education program Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz . He currently plays in the Sadhana Quartet with Vincent Chancey , Jeremy Carlstedt and Max Johnson .
