Heah Hock Aun

Heah Hock Aun (born January 15, 1932 in Penang , also known as Johnny Heah ) is a former badminton player from Malaysia .

Career

In 1958, Johnny Heah was a member of the Thomas Cup team, which lost to Indonesia in the final of the competition. Heah lost a double with Lim Say Hup against Tan King Gwan and Njoo Kiem Bie just in three sets, while he could win the second double against Tan Joe Hok and Ferry Sonneville clearly in two sets.

In 1952 Heah won the Scottish Open and the Irish Open in Europe . At the All England 1953 Johnny Heah lost the all-Malaysian final against Eddy Choong . He was able to take revenge for this defeat in the double final in 1957, when he was able to defeat the Choong brothers together with Joe Alston .

Heah is the son of former President of the Malaysian Badminton Federation Heah Joo Seang . In 1955, Johnny Heah married Amy Choong, a successful badminton player.
