The Heart River is a 7.7 km long tributary of the Snake River in the northwestern United States in the state of Wyoming .

It has its source on the continental divide at an altitude of 2217  m in the Rocky Mountains in Yellowstone National Park in Teton County , a few kilometers southeast of Yellowstone Lake .

After a few kilometers he reaches Heart Lake on the northeast side, which it flows through and leaves on the southeast side. On its way south, Surprise Creek and Outlet Creek flow into the Heart River. After another 6 kilometers it flows into the Snake River near the border with the Teton National Forest .

You can reach the river via the Heart River trail or the Snake River trail from the southern park boundary.
