Heather Samuel
Heather Barbara Samuel (born July 6, 1970 ) is a former Antiguan athlete and Olympian. Her main disciplines were 100 and 200 meter races .
successes
Samuel won her first medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1990. She took silver in the 100-meter run and bronze in the 200-meter run.
From 1991 to 1994 she studied at Murray State University in Kentucky and was a member of the track team. There she was inducted into the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 for her athletic achievements . She was named Women's Track Athlete of the Year at the Ohio Valley Conference in 1992 and 1993 .
In 1993 she took part in the World Athletics Championships for the first time . In 1995 she won a gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Championships . In the same year she took part in the World Championships again, as well as in 1997.
She made her debut at the World Indoor Championships in 1999 . In the same year she took part in the world championships . Here, as at the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2001 World Indoor Championships, she was unable to win a medal.
At the Central America and Caribbean Games in 2002, she again won a silver and a bronze medal. After this success she took part in the 2003 World Indoor Championships , the 2003 World Championships and the 2004 Summer Olympics without winning another medal.
Samuel ended her career in 2004. In 2012 she graduated with honors from the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program .
