history

The first documentary mention is from 1368, at that time still under the name Hebanse . The founding goes back to Albert Nothaft von Thierstein, who had twelve farms and a few hostels settle here. In 1818, due to the municipal edict, it was upgraded to the rural community "Hebanz", which also included Habnith, Kaiserhammer, Karolinenhain, Leuthenforst, Ruggenmühle, Schwarzenhammer and Wendenhammer. On July 1, 1953, the name of the municipality was officially changed from Hebanz to Schwarzenhammer . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , it was dissolved on January 1, 1978. A part came to the Thierstein market , while Hebanz was awarded to the town of Marktleuthen.
