Großwendern is a district of Marktleuthen in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .
Großwendern is north of Marktleuthen, where the road forks and surrounds the town. The state road St 2179 continues to Spielberg , the district road WUN 1 leads to Niederlamitz . The place is at the foot of the Great Kornberg .
The nearby so-called Burgstall Steinelburg is interesting in terms of settlement history . The architectural monuments include several stable houses and a cross stone . A cellar hill and a cellar hollow path contain several rock cellars from the 19th century.
