Heidemarie Schwermer (* 1942 in Memel , East Prussia ; † March 23, 2016 in Kassel ) was a German psychotherapist , life artist and author .

Life

She was a trained teacher and worked in this profession for 20 years. Then she worked as a psychotherapist and motopedist and dealt intensively with the topics of sharing and exchanging and not using money as a medium of exchange . In 1994 she founded a barter ring. In 1996 she made the decision to live a life without money. She lived according to this principle until 2007, later she received a small pension, which she gave away and whose health insurance she took advantage of. Heidemarie Schwermer passed away on March 23, 2016 after suffering from cancer for a long time.

In addition to numerous discussion appearances, she dealt with the idea of ​​a moneyless society in four books and described her experiences and reasons for a moneyless life. She was a guest on television programs and gave lectures at home and abroad. In 2010, a 52-minute documentary film about her life was released with the title Living without money .

Private life

Schwermer had two children and three grandchildren.
