Heidi Lüdi

Heidi Lüdi (born May 31, 1949 in Basel ; born Heidi Hürzeler ) is a Swiss production designer .

Life

The daughter of the hospital administrator Marcel Hürzeler and his wife, the chief secretary Margrit Hürzeler, née Moesch, attended a Rudolf Steiner school . In 1966/67 she learned carpentry and woodworking at the trade school in Basel and graphic arts at the arts and crafts school. From 1967 she studied painting and stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .

In 1969 she became an assistant to the film and television architect Hans Gailling . In 1970 she married her colleague Toni Lüdi , with whom she worked several times. Since 1970 she has designed sets for television, from 1972 for the cinema. Especially representatives of the New German Cinema like Wim Wenders worked with her.

Because of her careful detailed studies, she was used for several ambitious productions, such as the film adaptation of the novel Der Gehülfe as well as the film adaptation of Der Zauberberg , for which she received the gold film volume with Toni Lüdi in 1982 . In the last five days she designed a Gestapo cellar, in Die Schaukel she staged 19th century Munich. She also worked for television, where she designed the children's series Käpt'n Blaubär .

Heidi Lüdi also took on administrative activities, from 1983 to 1986 as a board member in the Association of Production Designers, Film Architects and Costume Designers (SFK). From 1989 to 1991 she was a member of the advisory board of the social work of the collecting society Bild-Kunst . In 2003 she was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy .
